So, the whole corona virus is going around, everyone is freaking out, stores are constantly restocking their items, and toilet paper is running low. (Jk)
Some rules to follow, ESPECIALLY at this time: WASH YOUR HANDS!
Germs can be on your face, and when you swipe a quick fingers across the tip of your nose to get rid of an itch (like I tend to do a lot), you now have germs on your hand, and then right after you do that, you grab a handle to pull/push a door open. Brilliant.
When you wash your hands, make sure to count to twenty, or sing the alphabet slowly (twice, if you're like me and like to make SURE that you're washing the germs off), or sing Happy Birthday. Make sure you're scrubbing in between your fingers, under your nails, (keep your nails short because germs like to live under there), the skin in between your thumb and pointer finger, the tops of your hands, your palms, and even your wrists.
I used to work in a small bakery, but before that, I had to get my food handlers license, and I had to learn how to wash my hands properly, because we were making and handling food a lot, so most of this is still a habit for me.
My mom is working on getting certified as a lactation consultant, and spends some time at a birthing home, (I think that's what it's called...) and there was something that they would do to wipe things down and make sure they kept things clean. They just got a bottle of rubbing alcohol, and with a little bit of the rubbing alcohol on the wipe, my mom will go around the house and just give things a quick swipe. Light switches and the plates, door knobs, knobs on drawers, handles, and anything else that we touch on a regular basis.
We also diffuse essential oils a lot, to help with build immune systems, and kind of help "clean the air", (plus, it makes the house smell good.) ;P I have a page up top of different essential oil blends, and there are a couple mixes for immune building up there.
If you're okay with medicines, something my mom discovered at Walmart is Oscillococcinum. (I know. Really hard to say.) This is just a tiiiiiny bottle with little crystals (please don't freak out at the word, that's the only way I could think to describe them), and you just pour them under your tongue to dissolve. It literally tastes like pure sugar, so our kids don't have any trouble with it.
At the very first thought that you might be feeling the symptoms of being sick, take a little bottle and dump it under your tongue and let it dissolve. But, this will only work if you catch the symptoms as soon as possible.
So, stay healthy, keep cleaning, watch where you sneeze and cough, wash your hands lots, drink a LOT of water, and pray. Pray for our EMS, nurses and doctors who are constantly working, and exposed to the virus. Other businesses and events are closing because of this sickness, but hospitals aren't. Pray for them.
